"After going through the experience of having our first custom home built, we highly recommend Mark and Jennifer Pickel of M&J Homes, LLC. They offered us a path to be able to build the home we desired, and had a process that put us in the driver’s seat. They allowed us the space to design our home, find the materials and fixtures we wanted while providing knowledgeable advice on what would work and what may not work within the design. As a result, we are able to have a home that is uniquely our own. A few of those unique components include: we were able to incorporate reclaimed hardwood floors throughout our house, have a well-designed kitchen, have a large garage, and have the floor plan modified to fit the needs and wants of our growing family. In other words, we were able to incorporate the features important to us in a home. They communicated with us constantly in a respectful, open-minded, flexible manner and kept us in the loop on each step of the process. As the house began to take shape, they where responsive to changes we wanted to make. Even after the house was completed and we took ownership, Mark and Jennifer continue to provide services and support to us. "My husband and I were looking to upgrade into a larger home and had looked at existing houses for over a year with no luck. We had never imagined we would find ourselves building a house, until we fell upon M&J Homes! Our friends had purchased one of their homes and were extremely pleased with the builders and quality of the home. For that reason, we decided it wouldn't hurt to meet with Mark and Jennifer and explore the option of building ourselves. We found Mark and Jennifer very easy to work with. Being very uneasy about the whole idea of building to begin with, they calmed all our fears! They were great about answering all our questions and really took their time walking us through the entire process. Before you know it, we were signing papers to begin building our own home! The whole building process was very smooth. Mark and Jennifer communicate almost daily on the progress of the house and always return your calls promptly for any questions. Unlike builders who mass produce homes, when building with M&J Homes you are able to choose from an array of options for your entire house. There are no limited choices, and my husband and I loved that! We also were pleased that all deadlines were met on time. It was important that our family was in the house by April 15th, and Mark was true to his word and we moved in as scheduled.
